Day 4 - Austin, Minnesota to Murdo, South Dakota

Friday, July 4, 2008

We stopped at the SPAM Museum in Austin, Minnesota, before leaving.

This is made of cans of SPAM.

Our next stop was Sioux Falls, South Dakota. First we drove around the city and stopped at a Petco to get Duncan a harness - he likes to wiggle out when he sees dogs and motorcycles. Then we went to Falls Park to walk around.

We saw this as we were driving on the highway through Montrose, South Dakota. It is the
world's largest bull's head sculpture! What would we have done if we missed this?!

After Falls Park, we headed to the Corn Palace in Mitchell, South Dakota. Both the interior and exterior of the Corn Palace are decorated with murals made of corn. A new theme is chosen each year, and the murals on the exterior of the building are taken down and replaced.

This was part of a gas station in South Dakota. There were casinos everywhere we looked.

On the way to Murdo, we stopped at quite the scenic rest area. It overlooked the Missouri River.

This was the only problem...just a minor one. Luckily we didn't see any as we were walking around and watching a few fireworks.
